“Beating Hearts” By Daniel Alberdeston
Sometimes and often I lay my head on me dog's belly. There’s always love and peace there. But recently and not too long ago, I actually placed my ear there, in the loving belly, and I heard the most peaceful sound of music, my dog’s heartbeat. There was this soft sounding drum, coupled with the warmth of my dog, that could put the world to sleep. However this was the first time I actually thought about it some more. What if we all listened to each others heartbeats? I am sure we would be reminded of love that has always been there but just needed some attention. Or a forgotten memory reminded you of your own heart's yearning to express love in profound ways, bringing us all together. Families and Friends hearts stretched together into one sound of music, sound of love. But more important what if all the leaders in the world listened to each other’s heartbeats would they find peace and love? Would the peace and love be profound that they would change their views? Maybe we should all start listening to each other’s heartbeats. A beating heart is love in the most simplest yet profound form.
